@prometheanbound I'm glad you shared that because I think that's why I was thrown off when trying to name what the film's approach felt like to me. If Lucas is fond of documentary, that explains why we're not always intimate/indulgent with different characters' emotional states while scenes play out. I feel good about how this rewatch went, so I've got enthusiasm for going into AOTC soon. I wanted to let TPM breathe a while before writing about it and rolling into the next film. I think that was wise of me because taking time to reflect on TPM boosted my affection for it higher than what I felt while watching. I'm also still avoiding delving much into the articles and video critiques you shared with me a while back since I think it's appropriate that I keep taking these movies in from my own perspective first.
