Sony Classical has released the traditional folk and gospel song I Am a Poor Wayfaring Stranger as featured in Sam Mendes’ World War I drama 1917. The track is performed by actor Jos Slovick and was arranged by Craig Leon. Three versions of the song are now available to stream and download as a digital single on Amazon. The label has previously released the official soundtrack album for the movie featuring Thomas Newman’s Academy Award-nominated score. 1917 starring George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch follows two young British soldiers who must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers.
