吉他兼歌手Emmylou Harris于1947年出生于美国阿拉巴马州，60年代晚期以民谣歌手身份走唱于 华盛顿特区，接着与乡村摇滚歌手Gram Parsons（曾待过Byrds与Flying Burrito Brothers合唱团）一起巡回直到1973年Parsons去世为止。1975年之后Emmylou Harris成立自己的伴奏乐团，开始在主 流唱片公司发行个人专辑，二十多年来作品数量已超过20张，1975-81年间的连续8张专辑都被宣布为金唱片。
