The Best of Mozart

Perhaps no other composer is more beloved than Mozart. For two centuries, the works of Mozart have enchanted even the most casual classical music listener. This crossover popularity has created a huge boom in recordings of Mozart’s music, and Telarc’s compact discs, in particular, have received consistently high ratings by both critics and consumers.
The Best of Mozart is a sampler of complete movements of various Mozart compositions, drawn from Telarc recordings. American Record Guide called Symphonies No. 40 and 41 “one of the most exciting Mozart releases I’ve heard in a long time,” while the New York Times was impressed by its “convincing solidness and cohesiveness.” Also included are movements from Mozart’s Requiem (“a very commendable release” —American Record Guide), the Quintet for Piano and Winds (“highly recommended” —Fanfare), and Eine kleine Nachtmusik (“what classical music recording is all about” —Stereophile).
