乐队四人是两对兄妹，分别是 Ciarán 和 Fiona MacGillivray，Jimmy 和 Roseanne MacKenzie，至今有过三张专辑，分别是 Made in Cape Breton, On Fire 和 Forerunner。他们在 East Coast Awards 上有过不俗的表现，在北美越来越受欢迎，新专辑 Forerunner 签约 Rounder Records(经常买碟的朋友应该很熟悉这个Label了)，是他们在美国的第一张专辑。2006年乐队随著名的爱尔兰民俗乐队 The Chieftains （VC上有下）一起在美国巡演，在纽约的卡耐基音乐厅的终演。The Chieftains 的创始人 Paddy Maloney 褒奖他们说，The Cottars 有着同他们出道时同样高的能量和执著，相信他们难以置信的音乐才能，完美的嗓音和优美的舞姿会给他们带来无限的前途。
