Balkan Taksim is the Bucharest-based multi-instrumentalist SaÈa-Liviu Stoianovici who, along with his electronica producer companion Alin ZÄbrÄuÈeanu, explores traditional music of the Balkans, ancient Romanian music and Slavic cultures. They meet local musicians to record the traditional tunes that they later rework with contemporary electronica sounds, heavy bass and powerful beats.
