原来 Acoustic Music 是指音乐由不经电子乐器所产生的音响，因此，绝大部分的音乐都可入围为Acoustic music, 尤其是古典音乐。但现代音乐如Rock n Roll则不同，此类音乐多借助电子乐器，如电子结他、Bass 结他都需用电子扩音(Amplification)，古典音乐间中也采用电子帮助，如用电子风琴，音乐综合器(synthesiser)等等就是。
看来现代人向往自然，崇尚纯粹、不经电子帮助的声音，才有这Acoustic Music 的面世。Rock n Roll 音乐中的主要乐器结他，就有Acoustic 和 Electric 结他两种。如果某Punk Rock 乐队只用Acoustic 结他，那么他们的音就是纯然的Acoustic music 音乐了。
