After a break of more than 15 years, they’re finally back: 'Source' is the name of the new Alphawezen album which will be released on November 3rd, 2023 on MOLE Listening Pearls. The single 'Milk' will be available via online streaming from September 29th. A double 12” vinyl is in the works and will soon be available for pre-order via bandcamp.
With their briliant singles « Speed Of Light » and « Into The Stars », Alphawezen are already known from many compilations and could also be found in the record collections of many DJ’s. Something to remember of all this: the trip taken by two crazy space-time travellers, singer Asu Jung and producer Ernst Wawra, through "Music from Another Universe" (3sat Kulturzeit). Some call it “ambient electronic pop” and there’s more than a grain of truth in that. But this music’s actually bound for other realms…. As you will undoubtedly discover for yourself.
In any case, the ride has already soared through three albums on Mole Listening Pearls (UCM.ONE), several videos were released, and thankfully, there’s no end in sight ! In the meantime, Alphawezen has been featured on a number of compilations and movie soundtracks: including 2manyDJs’ mix CD "As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt.2" and Anne Fontaine’s film "Nathalie" - among others, Alphawezen, with Fanny Ardant and Emmanuelle Béart in a club scene.
"A Shimmering Sequence of Secrets” wrote the Frankfurter Rundschau in its review, whilst someone else described “a sense of wellbeing, an abiding warmth, a longing that makes you come back.” The best you can do is to make out your mind for yourself…
