Beautiful trio material from pianist Hiromasa "Colgen" Suzuki – a player with a richly fluid feel – easily right up there with the best Japanese players of the 70s! Like some of his best contemporaries, Suzuki's got a way of hitting the keys that's really dynamic without being overly dramatic – a flowing sense of sound that's simply breathtaking, yet never in any sort of "hey, look at me" sort of style. While stretching out freely, Hiromasa never goes too far out – never gets avant or free in his expressions, and still keeps things swinging with an inherent sense of rhythm most of the time – even when musing lyrically in a gentle mode.
