身兼歌手/创作/吉他手/演员的Rick Springfield于70年代初期组成ZOOT合唱团在家乡澳洲相当首欢迎。1972年单飞。有着帅气面孔的Rick Springfield也获得过不少影片演出的机会，在1981年畅销影片《General Hospital/综合医院》饰演Noah Drake医生角色才成为家喻户晓的的电视小生。并且他的专集也经常达到多白金的销售量。
Rick Springfield所有音乐都是被世界所关注的，著名香港多栖明星张国荣曾经也翻唱过Rick Springfield的经典曲目 Stand up，也证明了瑞克史普林菲尔的实力。
