"During the War of Independence in May of 1948 many emotional songs were written, expressing the despair and hope of the people whose war brought about the establishment of the State of Israel. This CD contains 18 songs, some of which appear in their original version by the Chizbatron and Yaffa Yarkoni. Sung in Hebrew."
This is a reissue of the Hataklit/התקליט vinyl LP (catalog # HI 30233). Although the English title of the CD is "Israeli Palmach Songs from the War of Independence," the literal title in Hebrew reads, "Palmach Songs - War of Independence and Aliyah."
