Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 'From the New World'

The release of this multi-channel hybrid SACD, featuring a live performance of Dvorák's beloved New World symphony, marked both the inauguration of Mariss Jansons as chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the debut of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s new independent label RCO Live in September 2004.
The combination of the famous acoustics of the glorious Main Hall of the Concertgebouw, the rich sound and intense playing of the orchestra and Mariss Jansons’ warm, emotive interpretation of Dvorák's masterpiece sets the standard for what turned out to be one of the most exciting new labels to come along in years.
