Australia’s This is Your Captain Speaking create expansive instrumental pieces using a minimalist aesthetic and subtle, evocative instr umentation. The band released their debut album ‘Storyboard’ in 2005 and have since achieved a great deal through word-of-mouth and music that speaks for itself. With two sold-out pressings of their debut, re-issued in Europe by Resonant Records in 2006, the same year This is Your Captain Speaking toured Europe and the UK including performing at Belgium's Rhâââ Lovely Festival. Their second album ‘Eternal Return’ was released to critical acclaim in 2008. In 2007 the band also wrote the original score for animated film ‘The Astronomer’, which was nominated for an AFI. This is Your Captain Speaking's third LP 'ARC' was released digitally through Diogenes Music (London) in April 2013, and sees the band forge a more expansive sound with the addition of bassist Gavin Vance alongside their trademark intertwined guitar melodies and drum lines.
