乐队于1989年成立，是最深邃和黑暗的乐队之一，乐队的最初两个成员Anna Varney 和Holger相识在一个歌特俱乐部里，由于开始时他们经济紧迫买不起乐器，只能在头脑里编写音乐，即便如此，他们还是在92年发表了一系列技术落后意识超前的作品，其后Holger离开了乐队剩下Anna Varney一个人，他邀请一些客座乐手进行创作，并发表了一系列让地下音乐界为之折服的音乐，他们的音乐完全用原音乐器演奏，旋律徐缓庄严，带有浓重的中世纪宗教风格，还有Anna Varney宣称他的音乐不是自己创作，而是接受自宇宙中的神秘力量，他们的音乐被盛誉为“日尔曼哭调
