Estonian composer and field recordist Patrick McGinley aka Murmur makes a most welcome return to Jim Haynes' wonderful The Helen Scarsdale Agency imprint with 'Tether'. The resonant frequencies of somewhat mundane objects such as cables, fences, wires, and vents are recorded with contact mics, foregrounding an intricate, mesmerising previously hidden soundworld and transforming the ephemeral into something profound.
