Matisse

The relationship between Henri Matisse and his son, the influential art dealer Pierre Matisse (1900-1989), is at the heart of this biography. Closely involved with great art from an early age, Pierre Matisse moved from France to New York in his mid-20s to establish a gallery. For many years he had the exclusive representation in the USA of major European artists such as Miro, Giacometti, Balthus and Dubuffet.
