Hardware: The Definitive SF Works of Chris Foss
豆瓣
简介
With his spectacular spaceships, intricate machines and futuristic cities, Chris Foss revolutionized the science fiction book covers of the 1970s and 1980s.
Over the years he has worked on the original black and white edition of The Joy of Sex, produced covers for Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy, Arthur C. Clarke's Earthlight, and Philip K. Dick's We Can Build You and The Bicentennial Man. Foss worked with H.R Geiger on concepts for the unrealized Dune movie, and on the original Alien and Superman movies!
Hardware is the freated for many science fiction classics, including the Foundation Trilogy, E.E 'Doc Smith's Lensman series, and works by A.E Van Vogt and Philip K. Dick and includes forewords by acclaimed comics and conceptual artist Moebius and avant-garde filmmaker/playwright/composer/writer Alejandro Jodorowsky.
This title has been designed by Rian Hughes - a graphic designer and artist particularly noted for his work on 2000AD titles in the 1990s - including Robo Hunter and Dan Dare - and his inventive logo and font designs.
