After his Western triumphs, Valerii stepped out of the shadow of Sergio Leone with this distinctly Bergmanesque sexual melodrama.Dionisio is perfect in the title role and this remains her best film, Valerii turns up along the way too. Just when the film hits a period of auto pilot John Steiner turns up in the final reel for a climax that is quite unforgettable. A bit difficult to trace but well worth the effort.

An unseen killer is murdering people that know too much in connection with an earlier unsolved case of a missing girl. I like the giallo genre, but this one by Tonino Valerii is laid back to the point of being tedious, a few gory set-pieces can't even help this film. The ending is horribly cliché and the film has one scene that featured a fully naked prepubescent girl that repulsed me. There is NO reason to put a nude eleven or twelve year-old in any film. EVER!

Giuliano Gemma plays street cleaner Scott Mary, relentlessly bullied by the people of the small town of Clifton. When legendarily ruthless master gunfighter Frank Talby rides into town, Scott seizes the opportunity to lift himself out of the gutter, and possibly even surpass Talby's own skills. But what is Talby doing in Clifton in the first place? This lively, intelligent western, notable for the chemistry between its charismatic leads, some memorable action set-pieces (including a rifle duel on horseback that has to be seen to be believed), and a jazzy Riz Ortolani score, is presented here in a high-definition restoration from the original Techniscope negative.
