In August 1994, Oasis blazed onto the music scene with their debut album Definitely Maybe going straight to #1. They would go on to break the charts and send the tabloids in to a spin with their rock ‘n ’roll lifestyle, infighting and success.
The era of Britpop was born and propelled the band to eight UK #1 albums and singles respectively, before finally the notorious Gallagher rift fractured the band for good, 15 years after their emergence.
Featuring footage and interviews from throughout their career, Oasis In Their Own Words charts the band’s meteoric rise from Manchester lads to the biggest band of their generation.

Basically what you get on this DVD is a 1 hour documentary on the classic 1994 album Definitely Maybe. The documentary is an analysis on each of the songs (including bonus track "sad song"), and they also talk about the journey of making this album. You also get live performances of all the songs which were recorded from various venues. And one of the things I like about this DVD is that it contains the music videos for all the songs released from the album (the "live forever" video is the US version). There is a Limited Edition version which contains a bonus DVD. On this DVD there are two more live performances (of live forever and the Beatles song I am the Walrus). Also there are more interviews with the band on making the album.
I hope another DVD will be released for "whats the story (morning glory)?"

In August of 1996, Oasis, riding high from the overwhelming success of their first two albums Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, were to perform on the hit MTV series Unplugged. However (as was often the case), problems arose within the band, namely between the most well known members of the group, Noel and Liam Gallagher. An argument began between the two brothers, ultimately ending with Liam bowing out of the concert. The idea of postponing, or cancelling the show outright, was discussed, but thankfully, Noel decided to go ahead and sing lead vocals. What some initially thought of as a potential disaster ended up as a brilliant performance from Oasis sans Liam, and for the first time, gave the entire world a good look at what Noel could do.

On 10th and 11th August 1996, 250,000 young music fans converged on Knebworth Park to see Oasis play two record breaking, era defining shows. This version, included on the 'Oasis: Knebworth 1996' Blu-Ray/DVD, was shot on the 10th and was remastered in 2021.
