Nazi Titanic
director: Oscar Chan actor: Lee Williams / Adolf Hitler
other title: Goebbels' Titanic - Geschichte eines Propagandafilms / 纳粹巨轮的沉没
During a bizarre chapter of WWII, Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels decided to make a movie based on the sinking of the Titanic. This epic film was so large in scale that the Nazis were forced to divert men, material and ships from the war effort in order to complete it. Titanic was filmed aboard cruise ship SS Cap Arcona in the Baltic Sea. The movie’s director Herbert Selpin was arrested by the Gestapo over comments he made about the ship’s crew and he was questioned by Goebbels. Selpin was found dead the next day in his cell. The Gestapo’s verdict was suicide. Titanic never received the impressive premiere that Goebbels intended, being first shown in Nazi-occupied Paris in 1943. We reveal this little known but fascinating story by looking at the making of the film, as well as the fate of the German ship Cap Arcona.

director: Ray Comfort actor: Ray Comfort / Joseph Goebbels
other title: 180: Cambiando el corazon de una Nacion / 180 Movie
180 (2011) boldly confronts abortion as modern genocide. Ray Comfort uses Holocaust imagery—11 million murdered under Hitler—to expose ignorance via street interviews, asking if people would kill baby Hitler. He then equates 50M+ U.S. abortions to the "American Holocaust," forcing viewers to face the moral horror of child-killing. No evasion: equates elective abortion with premeditated murder of innocent image-bearers. Powerful pro-life wake-up call from Living Waters, ending with urgent repentance. Uncompromising truth exposing bloodguilt. (33 min)

Nuremberg Trials (1946) [Movie] Douban IMDb
Суд народов
other title: 纽伦堡审判 / Суд народов
Soviet produced look at the trials that followed the fall of Germany.
Deadly serious, this film is almost too somber to be taken with a straight face since the narration often comes across as rather preachy and purple. Its pure propaganda in the "we were right to try these people" sort of way and is clearly biased against the defendants who had just set Europe aflame. The take is rather odd and unlike any thing that I've run across in American or in Western European films on the same subject. It seems to be trying to over explain why the leaders of Germany were tried, which in retrospect is painfully obvious. Its clear from the lean toward the Soviet take of events and of its lingering on the speeches by the Soviet prosecutors who was behind the film. Its not bad but the heavy handedness of the presentation becomes wearing after a while.
If you keep in mind when the film was made its an intriguing look at how the events were viewed during their own historical period. However its probably too long at an hour, with its ponderous preaching taking away from any value the film might have had.

Hitler's Rise: The Colour Films (2013) [TV] Douban
Hitler's Rise: The Colour Films
director: Isabelle Clarke actor: 尤恩 貝利 / Brain Cox
Unlike many other documentaries or series that examine the life of Hitler, this series seeks to provide new perspectives through the use of colour footage. For example, it is widely known that Hitler did not get into art school, however this series reveals his failure was due to a lack of courage, having hardly prepared for the entrance exam. This attribute, one of little courage, is drawn upon time and time again: Hitler twice threatened to kill himself, firstly due to the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 and secondly, after the discovery of Hitler's involvement with his half-niece Geli Raubal, the newspapers accused him of sexual perversion. Another example adding to Hitler's cowardice, was a picture used to show him on the front lines of the putsch in a white coat, while all others were in black. It was in fact a fake and created as part of the Hitler Myth in reality, he was said to be cowering behind a bodyguard who was killed in the failed uprising.

Der Sieg des Glaubens (English: The Victory of Faith, Victory of Faith, or Victory of the Faith) (1933) is the first propaganda film directed by Leni Riefenstahl. Her film recounts the Fifth Party Rally of the Nazi Party, which occurred in Nuremberg from 30 August to 3 September 1933. The film is of great historic interest because it shows Adolf Hitler and Ernst Röhm on close and intimate terms, before Röhm was shot on the orders of Hitler on the Night of the Long Knives in July 1934. All known copies of the film were destroyed on Hitler's orders, and it was considered lost until a copy turned up in the 1990s in the United Kingdom
