Young dynamic executive, married and father of two children, Jérôme Ozendron dreams of writing and escaping a life he considers mediocre. The meeting with a former comrade, who had become an actor, brought him into contact with the world of cinema. He meets, Natacha, a cover girl, for whom he is ready to give up, wife and children. Then he becomes the lover of Lilianne, a marginal who persecutes and pursues him. He quit his job to devote himself to writing a novel. But nothing goes as he wants.

Whilst King Gros Pif I amuses himself at debauched banquets, his musketeers pursue their tax-collecting duties with a malicious zeal. Goaded by the court jester (who is also the Queen’s lover), the ministers decide to put an end to this regime and have the King locked up. Hearing the news, the famous Chevalier Blanc comes to his rescue. Aided by the knight and his cousin Lucienne, the King flees to Flanders, where he devises a scheme to win him back the throne of France...

Realistic biography of the famous french painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. This time, the focus is not on his work or his life at the Moulin Rouge (like in the John Huston's movie of the same title) but on the life of Lautrec himself, espacially his love relation with his model Suzanne (played with great talent by the marvelous Elza Zylberstein). Like in Minnelli's Van Gogh biography (Lust for life, 1957), movie director Planchon makes painting with the camera, especially in the firt hour. The times and the soul of the period (end of the XIXe century) is well respected. Beautiful movie!

Pauline, 28, hopes that by moving to the countryside she will be able to come to terms with the recent death of her husband. Here, she meets François, an introverted man of about her age whose emotional wounds run much deeper than her own. Forever scarred by a childhood tragedy, François lives a prisoner-like existence, guarded night and day by his authoritarian father and intrusive sister. Pauline and François discover a common bond in the fact that they both desperately want to start a new life, but lack the confidence to do so. At first, they find it hard to communicate with one another. But, gradually, they find the words to express their feelings and begin to realise that each has the power to set the other free...
