A lone wolf assassin, masquerading as a traditional dance instructor named Nitta, is called in to avert a potential financial scandal that threatens to engulf a powerful yakuza group with ties to influential figures in the political establishment.

As a child, Okin the one-armed one-eyed swordswoman was disfigured by Lord Daizen-dayu, who was after her family's most treasured possession, the famed Drenched Swallow sword. As an adult, she has become a skilled swordswoman and lives a carefree life with her adopted family. One day, Okin saves a girl from a group of yakuza, and in doing so, gets involved in a grand conspiracy involving religious leaders, government officials, the yakuza and Lord Daizen-dayu, the man who killed her father and mutilated her body...

The Shinobi-no-Mono series was so successful that Daiei Studios dipped into the well one more time, making the best 60′s B&W ninja movie ever seen in the otherwise color-dominated year of 1970. Issei Mori directs Hiroki Matsukata as the reluctant leader of a small band of spies charged with kidnapping a noblewoman from a heavily ninja-proofed castle. The finality of the air slowly began to fill like smoke, and in all that had become dark the loyalty of the Ninja who dared to go shone like light as they entered a world shrouded in mystery. Things do not go as planned in what is possibly the darkest and most fatalistic of the already noir-ish 60′s fare. Both the decade and it’s distinctive style of shinobi cinema went out on a high note with Mission Iron Castle.

Monjiro, reunited with his long lost sister, is pursued by a yakuza gang because he killed their boss. He also meets a fellow gambler who idolizes Monjiro. The gambler and Monjiro's sister are pulled into a conspiracy to get to Monjiro, but do things go as planned?

One murky night, Soetsu, a blind acupuncturist and money lender, calls on Shinzaemon Fukami, a Hatamoto samurai, to collect some money. But Fukami is too busy having an affair with a maid and curtly tells Soetsu to ask Sawano, his wife, for the money. As they have no money, Sawano interprets her husband's words as telling her to give herself to Soetsu in lieu of payment. However, Fukami catches them in the act and kills them both. Snatching up Soetsu's money bag with 30 ryo in it, he then asks two ruffians, to sink the bodies in a marsh. From what follows, it seems as if the spirits of Soetsu and Sawano are still hovering on earth in anguish and anger. For soon afterwards, Fukami is found dead by his own hand and Osono, Soetsu's younger daughter, suddenly disappears from home.

On the night of the summer Obon festival, Hagiwara Shinzaburo meets a beautiful courtesan named Otsuyu. Not knowing she's a ghost, he becomes infatuated by her.

The East Asian Acrobatic circus enjoys popularity after welcoming the Asuka brothers, two prestigious trapeze acrobats. One day, one of the brothers gets injured and a substitute needs to be found. Rumors start to float around concerning the circus clown and his grandiose acrobat career which ended tragically. Will he be able to reconcile with his tumultuous past and get the show running?

眠狂四郎（市川雷蔵）は武家の女・佐絵（穂高のり子）から誘いを受けるが、落ちぶれた武家の女を抱くことを拒み、一両を投げ与え立ち去った。狂四郎に武家の女としての誇りを踏みにじられた佐絵は、翌日その命を絶った。狂四郎は己の業の深さを強く感じた。さらに、狂四郎はふとした因縁で知り合った大工の孫・鶴松という少年を預かることになった。死んだ佐絵は鶴松の乳母であり、鶴松はお家騒動から逃れた岩代藩の嫡子であった。だが、そこへ城へ連れ戻そうとする追手が斬りかかってきた！

狂四郎はある朝浜町河岸に横たえられた、全裸の美女二人の死体を見た。鳥蔵と名乗る男はそれが、大奥の中臈・綾路と、お半下女中の美乃であると狂四郎に告げた。だがその烏蔵は隠れ切支丹の科で役人に捕えられた。この頃江戸では、豪商備前屋が、金力を武器に、老中水野忠成を抱き込み、大奥の女達に秘かに麻片を送っていた。浜町河岸の死体は、残忍な菊姫に麻薬責めにされ殺されたのだった。そして菊姫は鳥蔵の妹小鈴に、兄を救う手段と称して、牢内のバテレン、ヨハネス・セルディニイを誘惑させた。しかし、約束は守られず、鳥蔵は殺され、小鈴は自殺して果てた。狂四郎は、鳥蔵が死ぬ間際に、浜松へびるぜん志摩という狂四郎と血のつながる女がいると聞かされ、浜松へと旅立った。途中、狂四郎は、備前屋の刺客や、情慾のとりこになった巫女に悩まされたが、愛刀無相正宗がその難を救った。大井川で足どめされた狂四郎は、妖艶な鳥追い女と旅篭に入った。女と酒を飲み、女体を抱き寄せた狂四郎は、目がかすむのを知り愕然とした。女は、狂四郎の目をつぶすために使わされたのだった。だが、狂四郎の目は、宿敵少林寺拳法の達人陳孫の手当で回復した。再び浜松に向った狂四郎は、隠れ切支丹に案内されて舟小屋で、びるぜん志摩に会った。しかし、隠れ切支丹を追う役人のとりまきで、びるぜん志摩は肩口に傷を負った。狂四郎は、優口に口をつけて、その毒を出そうとしたが、その瞬間清純な尼僧の顔に恍惚の表情が走った。舟小屋の外に連れ出した狂四郎は、菊姫の配下武部光源一味に襲われ、志摩を海上につれ去られた。備前屋のまわし者や武部らを斬り倒し舟倉でびるぜん志摩に会った狂四郎は、志摩が備前屋のまわし者で切支丹になりすましては、信徒を売っていたこと、狂四郎を船にひき寄せるため配下にさらわれたことを知り、責めた。妖艶な表情に変った尼僧は、肌をあらわに狂四郎を誘ったが、狂四郎の剣は一刀のもとに斬った。そこに宿敵陳孫が現われ、念願の一騎打ちとなったが、血にぬれた狂四郎の剣は陳孫に深傷をあたえた。勝負はあずけた!海に逃げる陳孫を残して、狂四郎は志摩の骨を抱いて海上の人となった。

A decapitation at the hands of the shogun's monstrous misbegotten son kicks off the action and draws nomadic Nemuri Kyoshiro (Raizô Ichikawa) into more sword-fighting adventures when he's blamed for the beheading. Meanwhile, the head-chopper's mother is busy knocking off the shogun's lawful heirs to secure the shogunate for her son.

Blind swordsman/masseuse Zatoichi befriends a young woman returning home with her baby. When gangsters mistake her for Zatoichi and kill her, Zatoichi determines to escort the baby to its father. He gains the reluctant help of a young pick pocket and together they travel to find the baby's father. But they do not reckon on the father's reaction to their arrival, nor on their own growing feelings for the child.

江戸城大奥では、将軍の子を身ごもった二人の女、側室の環（行友圭子）とお千加の方（松尾嘉代）の権力争いが繰り広げられていた。そして大目付の板倉将監（小池朝雄）と組んだ大奥総取締役の錦小路（久保菜穂子）の企てで、敵対する人間が次々と殺され、それは眠狂四郎の仕業として広められた。そのため、江戸市中では、眠狂四郎が血と女に狂ってしまったと大騒ぎになっていた。そんなある日、狂四郎は白昼堂々、お庭番の集団の襲撃を受け、これを退けるが、その帰路で出くわした、大奥の女・小夜（藤村志保）に兄と間違われた。狂四郎は、小夜の兄が自分の名を騙った張本人であろうと思い、問い詰めるが…

Itinerant masseur and master swordsman, the blind Zatoichi, is near the village of his teacher, Hikonoichi, so he decides to visit. He learns of Hikonoichi's recent robbery and murder and the imprisonment of his virginal daughter, Osayo, in a brothel. Through friendship with Denroku, a local dice thrower and devoted father, Ichi uncovers an unholy alliance between the governor and the area strongman: among their scams is falsifying tax records to put farmers in debt, then forcing their daughters into prostitution at the boss's brothel. With help from Denroku's daughter, Otsuru, Ichi comforts Osayo until he can provoke showdowns with the villains and their henchmen.
