如美国梦一样，生活在俄罗斯别处的俄罗斯人同样有着“首都梦”，深信莫斯科有值得自己去发掘拼搏的地方。而本片的男主角安东就是一个刚参军回来，对现实社会一所不知的硬汉子。他靠着仅存的“未婚妻”的照片，隻身来到莫斯科找到了老乡，而老乡的女儿正是他的“未婚妻”。但是安东在这个大城市里屡屡受挫，凡事都靠着拳头说话，结果惹来老乡的厌恶。结果，安东加入了警队，希望闯一番事业。结果他遇着的是手握卖淫集团的警察局高官。安东也只好跟着他干活。本以为莫斯科是美好光明的安东在一次又一次的“见识”中，目睹了权钱交易，黑暗仇杀，警察越权等等对其冲击极大的阴暗。最后，一贯性格很冲的他做出了史无前例的行为……
