A live stage recording of the musical based on DreamWorks Animation's 1998 film adapted from the biblical story of Moses, from his being a prince of Egypt to his ultimate destiny of leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt.

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT is based on the award-winning DreamWorks Animation film which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. A stunning blend of traditional animation and computer-generated imagery, it remains one of the most beloved and acclaimed animated feature films of all time.

The Prince of Egypt retells the biblical story of Moses, who grows from a baby set adrift on the Nile by his mother Yocheved, to an Egyptian prince, and finally into the savior of the Hebrews under the oppression of his brother, Ramses.

嘀、噠、嘀、噠...莊的三十歲生日快到了，他正在為音樂劇的初讀而緊張。("30/90")他有兩個最好朋友：原本是演員現在成了成功生意人的男同性戀者米高；以及莊的女朋友，夢想是當一個舞蹈教師的舞者蘇珊。她剛好來到安慰莊，("Green Green Dress")卻也帶來她想搬到紐約以外的地方的消息；同時米高要讓他進入公司。兩者莊都不喜歡，("Johnny Can't Decide")然而現在他在咖啡店當侍應也不開心到那裡去。("Sunday")米高成功說服莊去參加面試，("No More")另一邊廂莊的姊姊答應找一些人來他音樂劇的初讀，這讓莊不願離去而跟女友鬧翻。("Therapy")莊因為不能選擇，結果在米高的公司亂搞一通，米高批評他即使有夢想也得跟生活妥協。("Real Life")

第二幕

回到音樂劇的初讀，莊遇見演員卡歷莎(也是由飾蘇珊的演員飾演)，並對有人跟他一樣對舞台有夢想而高興。("Sugar")回到家裡蘇珊要去馬薩堪斯州教舞，莊不想阻止她找尋夢想，又不想她走。("See Her Smile")無論如何，初讀還是開始了。蘇珊來了，米高來了，莊父親艾爾來了，莊的經理人來了。還有一個叫Stephen Sondheim的人。卡歷莎的表演非常不錯，("Come to Your Senses")雖然獲得掌聲，卻沒有人願意製作這套音樂劇。莊找米高訴苦，卻得知了米高身染愛滋的消息。("Why")幾番思量後他終於知道人生匆匆，而他只想寫音樂劇。派對上，莊與米高、蘇珊慶祝。他收到了Stephen Sondheim約他吃午餐的消息。終於他有決定了，走到鋼琴前彈奏著。("Louder Than Words")時鐘仍然嘀噠地響...他三十歲了。
