此片拍摄的开放脱俗，算是意大利艳情片中的上乘之作。影片伊始那一连串血腥的剖尸镜头和香艳镜头足以吊起广大观众的胃口，其中音效与画面的安排也是非常出色，极大地弥补了剧情上的不足之处。可惜导演从这部影片以后再也没有拍摄能够吸引眼球的佳作，实在可惜。
A pathology med student and a priest team up to investigate a wave of suicides blamed on sun spots and discover a number of them to be actual murders.
Simona Sana is a young pathologist whom works in a morgue in Rome, Italy which gets with with a wave of violent suicides which are attributed to a summer heat wave. Driven to exhaustion from the intense heat and the long hours worked, Simona struggles to complete her college theses about natural deaths when one suicide victim is brought in the morgue in which a young Catholic priest named Paul Lenox who identifies the corpse as his sister, but that did not commit suicide, but was murdered and set up to look like a suicide. Simona teams up with Father Lenox to solve the mystery and stay one step ahead of a mysterious killer who now begins to stalk her when Simona gets a little too close to the truth of the suicides.
When the city of Rome is rocked by a wave of violent suicides, a young forensic pathologist (Mimsy Farmer of Four Flies On Grey Velvet)), wracked by hallucinations of the living dead, and a priest (Barry Primus of New York, New York), running from his dark past, begin an investigation. Together they uncover a deadly secret...and a chilling slab of unspeakable horror.
Directed by Armando Crispino (The Dead Are Alive) and featuring a sinister score by Ennio Morricone (The Bird With The Crystal Plumage), this Euro Horror classic was cut by over 15 minutes upon its 1975 American release. Now Autopsy has been restored from original negative materials and presented uncut and uncensored.

Just for the record, the Italian title of this film is "The Seventh Woman". Three bank robbers on the run in their aging Citroen come across a remote beach house & find that as a perfect place to hide out. Trouble is, though, the house is occupied, by a few Catholic school girls and their teacher, who is also a nun. The sadistic bank robbers move right on in, kill the maid, and then proceed to have their way with a a couple of the girls and their teacher. One girl spurned one robber's advances with a deftly aimed comb handle to the groin area, and he's not doing too well, though. The girls, of course, and the nun, are not about to continue to be subjected to rape & torture, and eventually get the upper hand. This is no where near as nasty as "Last House On The Left", it's more a rather pale imitation. Still though, it's a decent enough exploitation film, if you like that sort of thing, but there's nothing to elevate it above that particular distinction. 6 out of 10.

Most enjoyable outing from Mr Lenzi and whilst giallo-esquire is really quite a mixed bag. Starting off as a bit of a hippy drippy affair with a young uninhibited couple using their bodies and their guile to get a free holiday, this turns into something much darker. There is real suspense including a splendid Hitchcockian scene in an aviary, lots of nudity and some pretty nasty moments. Irene Papas ( 'Zorba the Greek' and 'Don't Torture a Duckling') lends considerable gravitas with her impressive performance as the mature woman with something of a problem to sort out. Ray Lovelock is appealing as the handsome young man who likes fast cars and faster women but it is the lovely 16 year old Ornella Muti who is always catching the eye. Apparently the almost too perfect nude shots are of a body double but we still get plenty of up the shorts shots as she bends obligingly forward. All three are a great asset and with a decent script and Lenzi's constant inventiveness, this is a fine piece of exploitation cinema.

Emergency Squad/Squadra Volante (the latter actually translating as 'Flying Squad') is an okayish no-budget poliziotteschi that there's absolutely no reason to watch but which fills the time slightly better than expected if you do. The usual cop out to find his wife's killer plot suffers from having a lead who is barely present (the usually reliable Tomas Milian is a surprisingly dull turn in an almost non-existent role), but there are a few minor flourishes (such as Milian imagining crooks standing in front of the targets in a pistol range) and it fulfils every exploitation film's remit: always include an explosion for the trailer and book a helicopter for one day's shooting. The best moment comes not in the film itself but on the DVD extras in a brief but rambling interview with the film's dying director, Stelvio Massi, when he tries to remember the name of some American director who wrote him a fan letter until his wife suddenly remembers: "Tarantino?" "Yes, I think that's it."
