During the Paris rebellion, young Louis XIV must be hidden from danger and is secretly replaced at court by a look-alike. Entrusted to the musketeer-poet Cyrano de Bergerac, Louis is sheltered within Madeleine Béjart’s traveling theater troupe, where the actor and aspiring playwright Molière has just joined – unaware their newest member is the future king of France. As Cyrano struggles to handle the arrogant and clumsy young king, he begins writing a bold play for the troupe. Trois anniversaires viennent marquer l'année 2020. Le 130e de la naissance du Général de Gaulle, le 50e de sa disparition, le 80e de l'appel du 18 Juin. Trois évènements qui sont l'occasion, à travers cette série, d'évoquer une des grandes figures de l'Histoire française, européenne et mondiale du 20e siècle et d’en brosser un portrait plus intime.
Tous les Français connaissent le général de Gaulle. Le résistant, qui refusa de céder à la défaite. L’homme politique tour à tour visionnaire, libérateur, pacificateur, constructeur.
