Professor Yamatone and his family visit present day Egypt, and discover an ancient tomb belonging to a god of justice and protector of the weak known as Ogon Bat. When the Professor is taken captive by Gorgo, agent of the evil Dr. Erich Nazō (ナゾー), his daughter Mari pleads for Ogon Bat to save her father. As she starts to cry, her tears fall in Ogon Bat's tomb and revive him. From then on, Mari calls on Ogon Bat to fight against evil.

A boy finds a strange object while playing hide-and-seek. His grandfather tells him the story of his own youth, and the important role the old lamp played. This story is about the modernization of Japan and the changes that came with it.

The Fairy Queen appears before Persia in the form of a butterfly, and explains that the Lovely Dream is in danger, requesting Persia's help. She gives Persia a magical golden headband with a star which reacts to the word "Papurikko". With it, Persia can conjure a magic baton which bridges her world and Lovely Dream, as well as transform into an older self by saying "Perukko Raburin Kurukuru Rinkuru". She is sent with three kappa back into the regular world with the mission of collecting love energy to thaw the frozen Lovely Dream.

Needless to say, nothing is as it seems, and the war between Iria and Zeiram begins in earnest.

20世紀末の現代、高校生の火野ヤマトは体育館で自分の名を呼ぶ巨大な「魔神」の幻影を見る。幻を振り払おうとするヤマトであったが、「魔神」とともに「見知らぬ女性」の声が聞こえたとき、ヤマトは声に歩み寄ってしまう。 　 ヤマトが「魔神」によって運ばれた先は1万年前に地殻変動で海に沈んだはずのムー大陸であった。訳が判らないヤマトに対しムーの民たちは彼を「マジンガーが選んだ救世主」と持ち上げる。彼らムーの民の守護神こそ、彼を現代から過去に運んだゴッドマジンガーであった。そんな折、ムーの民と拮抗する勢力であるドラゴニアが襲来すると、再び「魔神」の声がヤマトを呼び寄せる。ヤマトがゴッドマジンガーと融合したとき、ゴッドマジンガーはドラゴニアの恐竜軍団を撃退するのであった。
