【颠倒的魔法】故事发生在一个奇想世界，主角是一位具有超能力的１３岁少女Nory Boxwood Horace，她和好友Reina Carvajal 一同进入魔法学园Sage Academy for Magical Studies 接受训练，Reina 能操纵火的能力让她成为班上的顶尖高手，不过Nory 能化身成其他动物的超能力却有些失控，因为当她化身时总会不自觉加入一些非常元素，例如原本不该会喷火的动物却喷火了、尺寸也不对…等等，因此制造了不少麻烦，尤其学园负责人Knightslinger 女士认为失控的魔法（Upside-Down Magic，简称UDM）容易受到邪恶危险的暗影黑魔法影响，所以所有失控的魔法学徒都被安排到「非常魔法班」，然而Nory 和她的UDM 同学们却希望有机会能够向大家证明，他们的魔法一样可以成为十分正面的力量。
