Maria Taylor is a singer-songwriter from Birmingham, AL, residing in Los Angeles, CA. In the Next Life, is her 6th solo effort, and her first release on her own label, Flower Moon Records (flowermoonrecords.com). She is also a member of the duo Azure Ray (Saddle Creek Records) with Orenda Fink. Taylor has previously played or collaborated with Bright Eyes, Moby, Michael Stipe of R.E.M. and more. Maria Taylor’s fourth solo album marks her first foray into handling all production duties herself, having worked primarily with fellow Saddle Creek staples Andy LeMaster and Mike Mogis on her previous records – and she hasn’t played it too safe. Gone are the acoustic trappings of 2009′s LadyLuck (mostly, anyway), and in comes a bit of rock swagger and rawer aesthetic that Maria says is an attempt to reflect the music scene in her Alabama home state.

her own as a solo artist, and nothing cements this fact like Lynn Teeter Flower. Having
grown up in a house full of musicians, Maria Taylor first gave the masses a taste of hergorgeous, mellifluous voice in the band Azure Ray. In 2005, Maria branched out on her own with a critically-acclaimed album, entitled 11:11, which established her as a master story teller with a flare for perfect, harmony-soaked melodies. 专辑的歌曲没有不好听的...我最喜欢的4个：Leap Year有点像Kate Bush的Hounds Of Love的节奏，叙述的那样一种等待和执着让我觉得久违...Lighthouse的欢快反而让人觉得孤独起来，尽管评论都说这是张忧伤的专辑，在我听来，最最忧伤的莫过Hitched，一个简单却让人失落的故事，无论开头结尾都是那样令人彷徨。专辑还有首特别的曲子，One For The Shareholder，如果你相信一个Indie-Folk女歌手会唱流行舞曲。
实在不知道再说什么好，在这么冷的冬天居然让我听到这样让人感动的专辑，快乐但让人无比孤单，因为音乐叙述的故事太美，不知道是向往好还是就当成个梦好，听着它总想写点什么，但当抬起笔又觉得所有的灵感都跑掉了，只有脑里滞留不前的影象，让人彻底的只想继续陶醉。
