The V.I.P.s

The main cast were Frost, Corbett, Cleese, Barker, Sheila Steafel and Nicky Henson. Musical interludes were provided by Julie Felix, while Tom Lehrer also performed songs in a few episodes.
The production team of The Frost Report comprised some of the finest comedic minds of Britain in the 1960s, with writers and performers who would go on to become famous names in different television shows. They included future Goodies members Bill Oddie and Tim Brooke-Taylor, and also Frank Muir, Denis Norden, Barry Cryer, Marty Feldman, Ronnie Barker, Ronnie Corbett, Dick Vosburgh, Anthony Jay (Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister) and future Python members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. It was while working on The Frost Report that the future Pythons developed their unique writing styles that would become so significant later.
A special one-off episode was broadcast on Easter Monday (24 March) 2008. It ran for ninety minutes being followed by a full episode featuring the classic Cleese/Barker/Corbett class sketch, which parodied the British class system.

A ground-breaking, late-night, live satire show which launched a host of careers and kick-started the '60s satire boom. The brilliant, incisive scripts, taking topical pot-shots at the establishment, made it possible to fulfil the show's intention to 'prick the pomposity of those in power'.
Frost on Satire (2010) [
David Frost / Rory Bremner
Sir David Frost presents an investigation into the power of political satire with the help of some of the funniest TV moments of the last 50 years.
Beginning with the 1960s and That Was the Week That Was, he charts the development of television satire in Britain and the United States and is joined by the leading satirists from both sides of the Atlantic. From the UK, Rory Bremner, Ian Hislop and John Lloyd discuss their individual contributions, while from the US, Jon Stewart analyses the appeal of The Daily Show, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell talk about their respective portrayals of Sarah Palin and George W Bush, and Chevy Chase remembers how Saturday Night Live turned them into huge stars.
All of them tackle the key question of whether satire really can alter the course of political events.
