The Cube, Jim’s program produced as part of NBC’s Experiment in Television series was written by Jim and Jerry Juhl back in 1966. While opposite from the visual style of Jim’s manic short Time Piece, The Cube explored similar themes related to free will and how the mind interprets the surrounding world. There was little interest in the script at first, and Jim and Jerry tried their hand at another script the following year, Tale of Sand, which married the visuals of Time Piece with the ideas of The Cube.

Doc and his dog Sprocket have a hole in their wall, behind which live little furry creatures known as Fraggles in a place called Fraggle Rock. The Rock is also home to the Doozers (who are knee-high to a Fraggle) and the Gorgs (who are giants that think they rule the Rock). One gang of Fraggles (Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, and Red), under the guidance of the all-knowing Trash Heap (Marjorie), learn about each other and their neighbors and eventually befriend the Doozers, the Gorgs--and even Doc and Sprocket. Screened for the first time at the Museum of Modern Art in May of 1965, Time Piece enjoyed an eighteen-month run at one Manhattan movie theater and was nominated for an Academy Award for outstanding short subject.

【布偶大追缉】的故事则是关于一场珠宝大窃案，本故事中主角 Kermit 和伙伴 Fozzie 是报社的记者，被报社派去英国伦敦采访一位知名的时尚设计师 Lady Holiday ，Kermit 还爱上了设计师的助理秘书 Miss Piggy，不料这时却发生窃案，设计师的名贵珠宝不翼而飞，而且 Miss Piggy 被陷害成为嫌犯，为了要洗刷 Miss Piggy 的冤屈，Kermit 和他的布偶伙伴们于是展开一场追缉珠宝窃贼的大冒险。
　　【布偶大追缉】（The Great Muppet Caper）是 Jim Henson 《布偶系列》跨入大银幕的第二部电影，于１９８１年推出，当年是由环球电影所发行的，迪斯尼于２００４年２月买下了 Jim Henson 《布偶系列》的所有作品版权之后，本片如今也已经成为迪斯尼旗下的作品了。
　　本片是由 Jim Henson 亲自担任执导，他同时也在片中担任包括主角 Kermit 等众多角色，其它布偶配音的也都是原来电视节目【大青蛙布偶秀】的原配音者，包括 Frank Oz 、Richard Hunt 、Jerry Nelson 、Dave Goelz 、Richard Hunt …等等，至于真人的演员部份，则包括 Diana Rigg 、Charles Grodin …等等，还有许多客串演员，包括 John Cleese 、Robert Morley 、Peter Ustinov 、Jack Warden 等。本片的配乐是由 Joe Raposo 负责，他同时也一人包办片中所有歌曲的作词与作曲，歌曲“The First Time It Happens”还获得该年奥斯卡金像奖的题名。本片的原声带在美国曾经有发行，但如今已经绝版多年了。
