TNT预订由瑞典作家John Ajvide Lindqvist所著的《生人勿近/血色童话 Let The Right One In》的改篇剧集版（原本由A&E负责），试映集由Marty Adelstein﹑Becky Clements及Simon Oakes负责。
吸血鬼（看完小说的小编认为还能加上”黑色惊悚纯爱治愈奇幻”）题材的原作曾有两部电影版，剧集故事讲述一个16岁﹑腼腆﹑孤独的男孩Henry（Benjamin Wadsworth饰），和母亲同住的他长期受到同学欺凌，而后来他跟新邻居成为好友。然而这位外表跟他差不多大的女孩子Eli，实际是个两百岁的吸血鬼（小说原著更是个男孩，生殖器被切除）。不过尽管如此，男孩仍然与Eli发展出纯爱，Kristine Froseth将饰演吸血鬼Eli。
Thomas Kretschmann饰演外国督察Eriksson，他和FBI合作，追踪了Eli及她的保护者有十年，认为他们已杀死超过100人。Kristoffer Joner饰演Eli的保护兼行动者Matheus Volk，这可悲的男人（原著他是恋童癖，所以照顾外表像孩子的Eli）为Eli找寻鲜血，在10年后他对自己向受害者下圈套﹑对他们放血﹑逃避侦查皆十分擅长，然而在疲惫和寒冷下，他终于患病并犯下一个马虎错误。
Necar Zadegan饰演常规角色FBI特别探员Sarah Church，她在加拿大边境发现三个边境巡逻员被抽干血，她马上理解有一个过去十年肆虐欧洲，非常狡猾和致命的连环杀手已来到北美。至于Cameron Gellman饰演循环角色Kyle，他是个有吸引力的坏男孩，不过他却不是欺负Henry的恶霸之一，反而对他蛮友善，并认为Henry应该向欺负自己的人反抗。
Darren Mann饰演循环角色Lukas，是一群少年恶霸的头目，他把主角Henry当成自己的欺负玩物，并以折磨他到几乎无意识为乐。

在一个异常炎热的日子里，三个不同的家庭发现了一个奇怪的秘密——他们刚刚死去的亲人又回来了。他们不知道该怎么办——这些不是毫无意识的僵尸，而是完全不同的东西。但究竟是什么呢？

The onstage re-imagination of the tale, now set in the brisk Scottish Highlands, has taken the darker elements of the original novel, resulting in a deeply chilling piece.

This tale of blind love in the face of all odds arrives in the West End following a sell out run at the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square, London.

First produces by the National Theatre of Scotland by arrangement with Marla Rubin and Bill Kenwright, in association with Dundee Rep Theatre, at Dundee Rep Theatre, on 8 June 2013.

Award-winning playwright, writer and producer Andrew Hinderaker (Away, PENNY DREADFUL), who wrote the pilot, will serve as showrunner and executive produce along with Seith Mann (HOMELAND, FreeRayshawn, Blindspotting), who directed the pilot and will also direct additional episodes.
