Harvest is the fourth studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released on February 14, 1972 on Reprise Records, catalogue RS 6317. It featured the London Symphony Orchestra on two tracks, while noted guests David Crosby, Graham Nash, Linda Ronstadt, Stephen Stills, and James Taylor contributed vocals. It topped the Billboard 200 album chart for two weeks, and spawned two hit singles, "Old Man", which peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Heart of Gold", which peaked at #1. It was the best-selling album of 1972.

After the Gold Rush is the third album by Neil Young, and one of four high-profile albums released by each partner of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the wake of their chart-topping Déjà Vu album of 1970. It peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart; two singles taken from the album, "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" and "When You Dance I Can Really Love," made it to # 33 and # 93 respectively on the Billboard Hot 100.
After the Gold Rush was remastered and released on HDCD-encoded CD and digital download on July 14, 2009 as part of the Neil Young Archives Original Release Series. The remaster has been released on audiophile vinyl and a high resolution digital version on Blu-ray disc is also planned although a release date for this format has not yet been announced.

Ragged Glory is the nineteenth studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, his sixth with Crazy Horse, released on September 9, 1990.

American Stars 'n Bars is the eighth studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released on Reprise Records in 1977. Compiled from recording sessions scattered over a 29-month period, it includes "Like a Hurricane," one of Young's best-known songs. It peaked at #21 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified a gold record by the RIAA.

Neil Young puts it best: “This album is the unheard bridge between Harvest and Comes a Time”. Recorded between June 1974 and January 1975, Homegrown was intended to come out in 1975 before Neil cancelled the release. The album has remained unreleased until now, achieving a legendary status among Neil Young fans in the process. The album is made up of twelve Neil Young songs, of which seven are previously unreleased - “Separate Ways,” “Try,” “Mexico,” “Kansas,” We Don’t Smoke It No More,” “Vacancy” and “Florida” (a spoken word narration). Also included are the first recordings of “Love Is A Rose,” “Homegrown,” “White Line, “Little Wing,” and “Star Of Bethlehem” – different versions of which would all later appear on other Neil Young albums. Neil plays solo on some tracks (guitar, piano and harmonica), and is joined by a band of friends on other tracks, including Levon Helm, Ben Keith, Karl T Himmel, Tim Drummond, Emmylou Harris and Robbie Robertson. Recorded in analog, and mastered from the original master tapes, this long-lost album is a wonderful addition to Neil’s incomparable catalog.

Harvest Moon is the 19th studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released on November 2, 1992. Many of the musicians appearing on it also appeared on his 1972 album Harvest.

Dead Man is the soundtrack to the 1995 Jim Jarmusch western-themed film of the same name starring Gary Farmer, and Johnny Depp as William Blake. Neil Young recorded the soundtrack by improvising (mostly on his electric guitar, with some acoustic guitar, piano and organ) as he watched the newly edited film alone in a recording studio.

After dalliances with 1960s soul music (Are You Passionate?) and rock opera (Greendale, which spawned a Young-directed film of the same name), Prairie Wind featured an acoustic-based sound reminiscent of his earlier commercially successful albums Harvest and Harvest Moon. The album was in part inspired by the illness and recent death of his father, Canadian sportswriter and novelist Scott Young, and the album is dedicated in part to the elder Young.

The latest edition of Young's Archives Performance Series is released on December 9 via Reprise Records.
Included on the album are songs recorded during Young's six-show residency at The Cellar Door in Washington DC between November 30 and December 2, 1970, following the August release of After The Gold Rush.
Included on the album is a solo piano-led version of 'Cinnamon Girl', solo performances of Buffalo Springfield's 'Expecting To Fly', 'I Am A Child' and 'Flying On The Ground Is Wrong'
The album was recorded by Henry Lewy and produced by Young, and will be released digitally, on CD and on 180g vinyl mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and pressed at Pallas in Germany.

The Neil Young Archives is a series of archival releases by singer-songwriter Neil Young which feature previously unreleased studio and live recordings.
The Archives have been long-anticipated — work began on them in the late 1980s.[1] Neil Young has expressed his desire to release such a series in numerous interviews over the course of decades.
The archives are divided into several series. The main part is a series of box sets covering separate periods of the artist's career. In addition to this is the Performance Series which is a series of individual releases of live concert recordings. Finally, there is the Special Edition series which will consist of previously unreleased albums.

Tonight's the Night is the sixth studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released in 1975 on Reprise Records, catalogue MS 2221.

Recorded under a full moon in late 1976, Hitchhiker captures an unaccompanied Young at his most penetrating and stripped down. Though several of these songs later became staples (“Pocahontas,” “Ride My Llama,” the haunting “Powderfinger”), they never sounded quite as pure as they do here—never quite captured that elusive balance of ethereal and elemental that makes Young such a legend. First written off by record labels at the time as little more than a set of demos (in Young’s telling, at least), Hitchhiker stands now as a beautiful, singular document—and it's lightning in a bottle.

This eight-song album is a collaboration between the acclaimed rock icon and
musician, songwriter, and producer Daniel Lanois, known for his work with U2,
Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, The Neville
Brothers and many others. As producer or co-producer Lanois won Grammy Awards in
1987, 1992, 1997, 2000, and 2001.
Young and Lanois have crossed paths musically over the course of many years,
including Lanois performances at Youngs Bridge School Benefit Concert and
Youngs performance at Farm Aid when Lanois was Willie Nelsons music director,
but this is the first time the two have recorded together. Recorded in Lanois
home in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles, Le Noise features Young on
acoustic and electric guitars with Lanois adding his trademark sonic textures,
creating one of the most sonically arresting albums Young has ever recorded. No
band, no overdubs, just a man on a stool and me doing a nice job on the
recording, as Lanois puts it.
Neil was so appreciative of the sonics that we presented to him, Lanois says.
He walked in the door and I put an acoustic guitar into his hands - one that I
had been working on to build a new sound. Thats the multi-layered acoustic
sound that you hear on the songs Love and War and Peaceful Valley Boulevard.
I wanted him to understand that Ive spent years dedicated to the sonics in my
home and that I wanted to give him something hed never heard before. He picked
up that instrument, which had everything - an acoustic sound, electronica, bass
sounds - and he knew as soon as he played it that we had taken the acoustic
guitar to a new level. Its hard to come up with a new sound at the back end of
50 years of rock and roll, but I think we did it.

Released in early 1969, Neil Young's first solo album is essentially an extension of "Broken Arrow" and "Expecting to Fly," his two most inventive contributions to Buffalo Springfield. Jack Nitzsche arranged and produced several of the tracks, fusing haunting strings and even funky female backing vocals to acoustic-oriented songs like "Here We Are in the Years" and "The Old Laughing Lady." "The Loner" is the one song from Neil Young to achieve classic-rock immortality, but "I've Been Waiting for You" is almost as good, and the rambling "Last Trip to Tulsa" presages the dark acoustic epics of On the Beach. Though it's not an essential album, Neil Young-like the man himself-is rarely less than interesting. --Dan Epstein

Neil Young was just a few days shy of his 23rd birthday when he took the stage at the Canterbury House in Ann Arbor, Mich., for what would become a legendary performance. It was 1968, and Young was about to release his self-titled debut solo album. His old band, Buffalo Springfield, had split up six months earlier, and few people even knew who Young was. But to his own surprise, and to the surprise of the Canterbury House, Young drew a sold-out audience.
Neil Young was horribly nervous before the performance and had to be coaxed from his hotel room by his manager Elliot Roberts and the minister of Canterbury House, Dan Burke. Burke tells NPR Music he remembers Neil Young huddled in Young's hotel room bed, too scared to perform. He told Burke no one would want to hear the Buffalo Springfield tunes or his new tunes. Young was afraid he didn't have enough material. But he was eventually persuaded to take the small stage.
"You really blew our minds," an astonished emcee said while introducing the performance. "We only expected a lot less people than showed up. I think you are a lot wiser than we were."
Despite the packed house, it was an intimate performance, as Young treated his audience to a cozy set of material most had never heard before, though some were Buffalo Springfield tracks. Studio versions of some of the songs, like "Birds" and "The Old Laughing Lady," would appear later on various Neil Young solo albums.
Few people outside of those in attendance that night would have known about the Ann Arbor performance if it weren't for a 1970 single Young released called "The Loner." The B-side of that 45 was "Sugar Mountain" — which, according to a note printed on the disc, was recorded live at the Canterbury House. Neil Young fans speculated that a recording of the entire concert must exist somewhere, and eagerly awaited its release.
The live recording of "Sugar Mountain" reappeared as a B-side to the "Cinnamon Girl" single in 1970, and again in 1977 on the double disc Decade, a compilation of Neil Young hits. But the rest of the concert recorded in Ann Arbor remained a mystery.
Now, 40 years later, Neil Young and Reprise Records are finally releasing the long-awaited Canterbury House performance as part of the Archives Performance Series, Young's effort to release box-set editions of past live concerts. Live at the Fillmore East was released in 2006, with Live at Massey Hall 1971 following a year later.
