Der kultivierte Literaturprofessor Hartmut “Hardy” Popp ist beruflich etabliert und glücklich mit der attraktiven Architektin Sabine verheiratet. Seine Idylle gerät ins Wanken, als Robert Merten in das Nachbarhaus zieht. Merten erscheint jede Nacht mit einer anderen, stets blutjungen Eroberung. Und immer, wenn Merten mit den hübschen Besucherinnen zu seiner Lieblingsbeschäftigung übergeht, erschallt aus seiner Wohnung unüberhörbar die Santana-Melodie “Samba Pa Ti” wie eine Siegeshymne. Als er herausfindet, dass Sabine eine Affäre mit seinem Kollegen Hans hat, bricht für Hardy die heile Welt endgültig zusammen. Unfreiwillig zum Single geworden, will er der Welt und seiner geliebten Sabine beweisen, dass er nicht bloß der Teddybär in einer Dauerbeziehung ist, sondern dass auch in ihm ein Tiger steckt. Doch Hardy spürt, dass er in Sachen Romantik Nachholbedarf hat.

Zurich in 1519: The young widow Anna Reinhart lives a barren life between fear of the church and worries about the future of her three children, when the arrival of a man in the city causes turmoil: The young priest Ulrich Zwingli takes up his new position at the Grossmünster in Zurich and sparks fierce discussions with his sermons against the grievances of the Catholic Church. Zwingli's revolutionary thoughts frighten Anna. But when she sees how Zwingli lives charity and not just preaches, she increasingly becomes fascinated by him. But Zwingli's success quickly becomes dangerous. His ideas almost trigger a civil war, and at the same time a struggle for power and interpretive sovereignty breaks out in the inner circle of the movement. When the Catholic forces begin to form internationally, the relationship between Zwingli and Anna is put to a hard test.

In 1904, there was a case that shook Switzerland: Frieda Keller was sentenced to death. A former victim of rape, the 25-year-old seamstress killed her son Ernstli, whose father was her attacker, and buried the five-year-old’s body in the forest. Shortly afterwards, the body was found, and the woman – a distraught mother, victim and perpetrator all at once – confessed to the crime. In addition to the authorities and her own family, the misogynistic laws of that time were also stacked against her.
Despite fierce protests from the populace, Frieda was first sentenced to death at the end of a public trial in St Gall in front of hundreds of onlookers, and was subsequently “pardoned” with a life sentence in solitary confinement. Not only was the bigoted pardon a disgrace, but the fact that her rapist, the married man Carl Zimmerli, was never brought to justice was shameful. Indeed, the law at the time protected married men who assaulted women.
The spectacular case raises the question of how much of a victim there is in the perpetrator. It significantly influenced debates on women's rights and a fairer society, as well as the development of the criminal justice system in Switzerland.

The young Orthodox Jew, Motti Wolkenbruch, finds himself at a turning point. His beloved mother wants him to get married and presents one marriage candidate after the other. Unfortunately none of the woman pleases him, because they all look just like her. The situation gets even more complicated, when Motti secretly falls in love with the non-Jewish girl Laura, a so-called Shiksa.

Nora is a young housewife and mother, living in a quaint little village with her husband and their two sons. The Swiss countryside is untouched by the major social upheavals the movement of 1968 has brought about. Nora’s life is not affected either; she is a quiet person who is liked by everybody – until she starts to publicly fight for women’s suffrage, which the men are due to vote on in a ballot on February 7, 1971.
