貧乏長屋に住む浪人、礼三郎に思いを寄せる、3人の娘たち。そのひとりに若殿様が恋したことから、恋模様はややこしいことになり……。サイレント映画からトーキーへの移行期である30年代に製作された、伝説のオペレッタ映画。セリフの代わりに歌がフィーチャーされ、江戸時代の恋騒動が陽気なムードの中に繰り広げられる。名匠、マキノ正博のアップテンポの演出、志村喬やディック・ミネの見事な歌いっぷりが見どころだ。

持枪侍从权八奉命保护少东家小十郎及随从源太去江户，与他们同行的还有小百货商人传次、外出卖身的农家姑娘和老爷茂作、按摩师巡礼、卖艺的澄母女、形迹可疑的藤三郎，还有流浪儿次郎。权八看见少东家小十郎和随从都酗酒贪杯，很是不安。夜幕降临，一行人在袋井住下。传次怀疑带着很多钱的藤三郎是大盗，正欲追踪，其实住在隔壁的巡礼才是真正的大盗六卫门。当晚，权八受澄之邀出门，小十郎与源太趁机大喝起酒来，幸亏权八及时赶回才没出什么事情。第二天，六门卫偷大人的盘缠，被权太擒获。藤三郎所带的钱原来是为了赎回五年前卖出的女儿，可现在他知道女儿已死，就用这笔钱为农家姑娘赎了身。小十郎与源太又进了小酒馆，大醉后遭了武士的毒手。
影片根据日本作家井上金太郎于1927所作的《道中悲记》改编而成。这是一部历史剧，以表现“忠诚”为主线贯穿始终，充分地运用了所谓正统历史剧的表现手法，以古典的手法和游记形式拍摄，剧中出场人物各具特色。导演内田吐梦早年当演员时便已经开始了电影生涯，他在二次大战期间曾执导过很多电影，为日本有声电影的发展起到了不可忽视的历史作用。该片受到了各界瞩目，入选1959年《电影旬报》十部佳片的第八位。

时为弘化年间（19世纪40年代），幕府将军德川家庆的异母弟弟——明石藩藩主松平齐昭（菅貫太郎 饰）骄纵跋扈，冷酷无情。虽则如此，齐昭却仕途顺利，即将成为幕府老中。为免苍生受其荼毒，笔头老中土井（丹波哲郎 饰）密令旗本岛田新左卫门（片岡千恵蔵 饰）刺杀齐昭。岛田领命，召集仓永左平太（嵐寛寿郎 饰）、平山九十郎（西村晃 饰）、新六郎（里見浩太朗 饰）等十数人组成刺客部队。不久，齐昭参勤完毕，启程归国。岛田等中伺机而动，明石藩武士鬼头半兵卫（内田良平 饰）则绞尽脑汁，全力护主。宿命之战将在落合驿全面展开……

忠兵衛は浪華飛脚問屋・亀屋の養子だった。同業丹波屋八右衛門に無理やり新町廓に連れこまれた。その相方が梅川だった。一度は帰ろうとするが、彼女の頼みで、そのまま泊ってしまう。客と寝ずに帰せば遊女は折檻されるのだ。－－翌朝、八右衛門が口裏を合わせ、無事に家へ入れたが、たちまち、その夜、廓へ足が向いていた。それからはチョクチョク遊びが続いた。梅川の情の深さが彼を捉えた。「わてらにとっては金が仇の世の中……」竹本座座付作者近松門左衛門は隣室で、その梅川のつぶやきを聞いた。義母の妙閑は彼の金遣いの荒らさに気づいた。大阪を離して考えさせよう。為替の差額を取りに江戸へ発たせた。その前夜、忠兵衛は梅川を待つ間、彼女の母あての手紙で、その孝行を知る。彼は金を置き、梅川に会わずに帰った。櫛が彼の江戸土産として届いた。縁を切るとのなぞ言葉か。梅川は泣きくずれた。近松がそれを見ていた。藤兵衛という小豆島の醤油の大尽が北陸から帰ってきたら、梅川を身請することになっていた。旅姿のままつい寄った忠兵衛は、それを聞かされた。持っていた八右衛門に届ける五十両を、身代金二百五十両の内金として入れ、いつづけを始めた。八右衛門に見つかったが、頼みこんで金は借り、家へ帰った。若い許婚・おとくへの土産は花かんざしだった。武家の為替三百両を届ける用事が、忠兵衛に命じられた。彼は金を懐ろに廓へ行ってしまう。藤兵衛が帰阪してい、梅川の身請の祝宴を挙げようとしていた。忠兵衛の内金はつっかえされた。後の二百両を入れたら、待ってもええ。梅川の主人は彼を馬鹿にしていた。八右衛門が梅川の部屋で例の五十両の一件を笑い話にしていた。忠兵衛は口惜しく、思わず懐ろの小判を握った。封印がきれ、こぼれた。その金も彼は八右衛門や梅川の主人の前に置き、梅川を連れて去った。－－亀屋に捕方がなだれこみ、忠兵衛の代りに妙閑が引っ立てられた。武家のお蔵金の封印切りは獄門である。瓦版が大阪の街を走った。三輪の里で、忠兵衛は梅川に封印切りを打ち明けた。梅川はそれを知っていながら、ついてきたのだ。二人はどこまでも一緒にいようと誓い合う。新口村の入口で、二人は捕った。実の親に会いに行くところだった。梅川には二度の勤めが待っていた。－－近松はこの話を三幕の世話狂言に仕立てた。新口村の場では、梅川・忠兵衛と親孫右衛門を会わせ、つらい別れと親子の情を見事に描いた。この芝居は民衆に拍手で迎えられた。作者自身も涙していた。...

大石刚介（三船敏郎 饰）升任关东同盟理事长，与中岛组佐仓一诚（佐分利信 饰）势均力敌，维持着表面的和平。但日本政界要员大山喜久夫（片冈千惠藏 饰）因癌症病倒，几乎再次点燃两派战火。大山幸得一宫恭夫（高桥悦史 饰）医治死里逃生，因此号召帮派联合，遭到两派抵制。

『忍びの者』の高岩肇のオリジナル・シナリオを、『血煙り笠』の松田定次が監督した時代劇。片岡千恵蔵、大川橋蔵、美空ひばり、中村錦之助など東映を代表するスターが共演した、豪華なオールスター映画。売り出し中の清水次郎長による花会が行われる清水の町は、諸国の親分衆たちが集まり大賑わいだった。息子の名付け親である次郎長に息子を見せようとする吉良の仁吉は、兄弟分である神戸の長吉から縄張りを奪われた話を聞く。縄張りを奪ったのは、仁吉の妻お新の父である安濃徳だという。仁吉はひとりで安濃徳を訪ね、義理を尽くして頼み込んだが、安濃徳はまったく取り合ってくれない。仁吉は荒神山で安濃徳に立ち向かうが、凶弾に倒れてしまい・・・。

In the midst of the depression, two ronin rack their brains to come up with a dishonest scheme. Taking a man from the countryside, they fashion him into Ise Isenokami, the finest swordsman under the sun. Pretending to be his followers, they visit various sword fighting dojo. Out of fear upon hearing the name Isenokami, they pay him off and do not let him enter their training halls. The scheme seems to be working well.
The impostor eventually comes face to face with the real Isenokami after rescuing his daughter, Oyae, who is caught up in a minor incident. The impostor refuses to give way to Isenokami, and they agree to a contest at the dojo, which the impostor promptly wins. The real Isenokami, having been defeated, retreats into the mountains for three years. He then challenges the impostor again, but once more he is defeated.
This being the case, the Isenokami asks the impostor to become the real Isenokami. The impostor replies that for him there is no real or fake, winner or loser, but only the self. Taking Oyae's hand, they leave the town.

kami was a young lord with high scruples, who refused to join in the general
corruption and bribery which ran rampant in the capital at that time. By not giving
bribes, he angered Kira Kozuke no suke the elder lord in charge of protocol at the
Palace. Refusing to teach the younger man, and giving him false instructions was
only the beginning. Insults followed, and a man of honor had no choice but to draw
his sword in anger. Forty seven masterless samurai are willing to give their lives to
