The first film I did with Peter Handke. It was a film about American music, about three pieces of three Lps. There was a song by Van Morrison, another by Harvey Mandel, and one of Credence Clearwater Revival. It was mainly the music and some shots out of a car, landscapes out of the car window. And it had a little bit of commentary – dialogue between Peter and me about American music and about how American rock music was about emotion and images instead of sounds.

A beautiful, nameless woman is hired to spend several days and nights with a man in his apartment. Not only does he want to sleep with her, but he is obsessed with the desire to look at her naked body. A philosophical dialogue develops between the man who relates his thoughts and writes them down and the woman who explains to him the causes of his 'lethal sickness'. After the woman has left, the narrator and observer, dressed in black, appears. It is Peter Handke, the poet. Film essay about the man - woman relationship: 'Peter Handke's most personal, most permissive and at the same time, most reserved film.

We sit on a bench and look closely: what is it that we see? Following the script written by Peter Handke, the creators of the performance bring together a remote-controlled car, politicians and pensioners, biblical and political figures, casual youth and sanitation workers, businessmen, circus performers. From one minute to the next, a picture of an overwhelming density is composed in front of the viewer. 200 characters reveal new manners of perceiving the mundane.
