this is one of the most amazing looking,surreal films of all time and i only recently acquired it on video.it was just as good after fond childhood memories of it.highly recommended,with great special effects,and stunning set design,and vivid colour and cinematography.buy with confidence!
This is as you remember watching it as a child. Lifelike, overtly coloured and full of magical splendor, terrifying nasties and surreal characters. In short, do not shy away from this opportunity to show a "Christmas Special" to your children in favour of the usual fare from Disney and co. Rather, pop a fresh batch of pop corn, get first dibs on the comfy chair and opt for what was arguably one of the highlights of East German children's programming.

迪士尼日前邀请《列车上的女孩》（The Girl on the Train）编剧艾琳·克里希达·威尔森（Erin Cressida Wilson）为他们创作一部真人版《白雪公主》电影的剧本，同时他们还邀请《啦啦之地》（La La Land）里歌曲的作词人Benj Pasek和Justin Paul为本片创作全新的歌曲。
“白雪公主”的故事取材自《格林童话》，故事讲述了一位美丽的公主因继母妒忌，而遭到迫害，后来逃到了大森林里，被七个小矮人相救。但是她的继母并未就此罢休，偷偷化装成丑陋的老太婆，找到白雪骗她吃了一口毒苹果，将其害死。故事的最后，白雪公主复活了，并与一见钟情的王子结婚。而她的继母则悲惨地死去。
迪士尼这次的真人版《白雪公主》由《啦啦之地》和《比利·林的中场战事》制片人马克·普拉特（Marc Platt）担任制片，影片除了有新创作的歌，也会保留部分当年动画片里的经典歌曲。
目前还不清楚，迪士尼开拍这部真人版《白雪公主》电影后，他们今年四月一日宣布的《白雪与红玫》（Snow White and Rose Red）项目是否会继续推进。《白雪与红玫》同样改编自《格林童话》，由Justin Merz编剧，讲述“红玫”是从小与“白雪公主”被迫分开的姐妹，两人一直没有来往，在白雪公主咬下毒苹果陷入昏睡后，她和七个小矮人一起四处奔走，寻求打破咒语的方法。

For those unaware of Reiniger or her prolific output, it should be immediately noted that not only was she a distinctive filmmaker but also a pioneering one. The earliest short on this collection, a version of Cinderella from 1922, describes itself as being “told by a pair of scissors on a screen” and this is exactly how she worked. Reiniger’s films were all made in a singular silhouette style: intricately designed figures delicately animated against simple backgrounds to retell popular and much-loved stories, predominantly fairy tales as this collection suggests. As well as Cinderella we also find Thumbelina, Puss in Boots, Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk and so on, the tales of Brothers Grimm intermingling with the tales from the One Thousand and One Nights. Yet interestingly her technique and style came effectively fully-formed. New technologies would see her films move from silent to sound and from black and white to occasional colour, yet the basic ingredients never once change. Compare the 1922 Cinderella with the 1954 version also included on this set and you’ll see how much the two resemble each other in their briskness of pace, their fundamental character designs and their overall charm – only the fact that the latter was made for US television suggests why some of the more grotesque elements have been toned down. (As a complete contrast note the extreme differences between the two versions of Cinderella found on Disney’s now deleted two-disc special edition, the first also made in 1922, the latter being the 1949 feature; other than the source and the Disney name on both there really is only the bare minimum to connect the two.)

剧情描述高仅五寸的小男孩汤姆被一对善心的伐木者夫妇收养，他的出现为村里的每个人带来欢乐。然而一对邪恶的坏蛋伊凡和汤尼却打算将小汤姆偷走，使他遭遇到可怕的命运，幸好坏人的计谋终于破败，汤姆重出生天。

Snow-White and Rose-Red (German: Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot) is a German fairy tale. The best-known version is the one collected by the Brothers Grimm as tale number 161. It is Aarne-Thompson type 426, the two girls, the bear, and the dwarf.
An older, somewhat shorter version, The Ungrateful Dwarf, was written by Caroline Stahl; this in fact appears to be the oldest variant of the tale, as there are no known previous oral versions, although several have been collected since its publication. The oral variants of this tale are very limited in area.
It is not to be confused with the Grimm fairy tale Snow White (which is written Schneewittchen in German, rather than Schneeweißchen) that provided the basis for the Walt Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; this is a completely different character, and she has nothing in common with the other one, other than sharing her name.
