Royal Music has released a new soundtrack album for Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut The Lost Daughter. The album features the original songs from the film by Greek singer/songwriter Monika (aka Monika Christodoulou). As previously reported, Milan Records has released a separate album featuring the movie’s original score by Dickon Hinchliffe. The Lost Daughter is directed by Gyllenhaal and stars Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley, Dakota Johnson, Peter Sarsgaard, Ed Harris, Paul Mescal, Jack Farthing, Dagmara Dominczyk, Alba Rohrwacher, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Panos Koronis. The movie follows a woman whose beach vacation takes a dark turn when her obsession with a young mother forces her to confront the secrets of her past. The drama, which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, is currently playing in select theaters and will debut on December 31 on Netflix.
