八年后，法瑞经营得法，已成当地实业界名人，丹娜执教乡村学校，也身兼教师联谊会主席，二人相爱，生活过得相当愉快。那时，吴已潜回马来，领导马共展开恐怖行动。法瑞的产业虽未受损害，但经不起当局的相劝，借重法过去与吴的关系，法独自深入森林寻吴，替吴与马来作公开谈判铺路，但不欢而归。
归途中，法在海滩结识杜林的女儿甘黛丝，甘对法的英俊仪表，芳心为之暗许。那时，杜林已晋升为英国驻马来亚高级专员了，他作风开明，对晚间七时半过后不准脚踏车通行的禁令，欣然取消。可是，恐怖分子在官员宴会投掷手榴弹，造成伤亡的事件，加速政府采取坚壁清野的政策，把居住森林居民疏散，烧毁村庄，使围剿工作易于进行。
丹娜不明当局苦心，目睹学校被焚，抗议无效，愤而沿山路出走，吴适出现，一番游说，丹中了毒计误做他的同路人，丹因车篮上发现军火，触犯紧急条例被判绞刑，驻军负责人卡文虽网开一面，只要丹肯领攻吴的巢穴，便可免死，但为丹所拒。
甘黛丝为了营救丹，也诸多奔走，最后只身深入虎谷寻吴而去，反被吴用作人质，期使当局把丹释放，卡文通知法说丹的刑期在七八天后执行，那时法深感事态严重，愿入虎谷，但要把丹的刑期展缓三天，卡文答应回去通知杜林，但半途已被杀。
另一搜索部队，同时与法瑞抵达吴的巢穴，伞兵群、森林部队用迫击炮开攻，一举把吴部歼灭，吴挟着甘落荒而逃，被法擒获押着回去，途中险象环生，吴背信几置法于死地，幸甘举枪把吴击成重伤，他死前说…丹是无辜的，被发现的军火只是有计划的插赃以达叛乱而已。
七日后，法与甘回来了，马来亚的百姓也从此得安居乐业，但丹已成羔羊，法带着破碎心灵吻别甘说…恨相逢已晚。

This lovely Canadian feature has Claire Bloom, playing younger than her real age and looking plump, as an English woman who leaves her marriage after 40 years. Although the narrative presents living on the pension as near-homelessness, with Bloom rifling through garbage to find useful items, her new life also happens to provide her with a protective boarding-type house, and a romance with a younger man. The romance is helped by the charm of Danjel Lavdie who plays off Bloom's elegance - though she uses a manic laugh to suggest that isn't totally a lady.
The treatment features an unintentional laugh in a gay man's line "I've never seen someone so careless with his (chess) queen", and a funny intentional exchange between Bloom and her ogre husband - "Couldn't ply your legs apart with a crowbar", "That probably wasn't the best way to try".
Susannah York pops up as Bloom's oldest friend, but she is featured in some of director Claude Fournier's ill-advised fantasy scenes - one where a boy in a thong parades for both women, and others where the characters are outlined with white light.

Rod Slater is the newly appointed general manager of the Sonderditch gold mine, but he stumbles across an ingenious plot to flood the mine, by drilling into an underground lake, so the unscrupulous owners to make a killing in the international gold market.

A European arms dealer (Roger Moore) meets a liberated woman journalist (Susannah York), who is writing a story about the ridiculous things men do with the armaments during a NATO war games meeting. Needless to say, the two meet and make sparks. A rather simple love story ensues.

This was part of the 2nd season of "American Film Theater" - producer Ely Landau's idea of filming plays and showing them in theatres for only 2 days and nights and you had to buy tickets in advance a la a night at the theater or a concert . . . I believe they sold tickets at the door only if there were any left (much like theater or concerts)

The first season included the likes of "The Iceman Cometh", and "The Man in The Glass Booth" and "The Maids" were among the 2nd season. This was an interesting idea but I'm sure it was unsuccessful. It seems that these pictures have vanished since their original brief theatrical release.
