The album features original music by Patrick Doyle ("Brave," "Thor") marking the eleventh time Doyle has teamed with director Kenneth Branagh. The score was recorded at Air Lyndhurst Studio in London, and was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by James Shearman and produced by Maggie Rodford.
In addition to the score, the soundtrack also includes end credit tracks by Lily James ("Cinderella") and Helena Bonham Carter ("Fairy Godmother"), plus the end credit original theme song "Strong" (written by Patrick Doyle, Kenneth Branagh and Tommy Danvers) performed by Compound/Motown recording artist Sonna Rele and produced by TommyD (Kylie, Kanye West, Corinne Bailey Rae, FUN). Sonna, the London born singer-songwriter, was discovered by multi Grammy®-Award winning singer-songwriter/ actor NE-YO and chosen by Kenneth Branagh to record "Strong." The album was produced by Patrick Doyle and executive produced by Kenneth Branagh.

Thor (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the Marvel Studios film of the same name, based on the character created by Marvel Comics. The music was composed by Patrick Doyle, and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Buena Vista Records announced the details for the soundtrack in March 2011. It was released in some European territories at the end of April and was released on May 3 in the United States.

The Eragon soundtrack is a brilliant film score by renowned composer Patrick Doyle. As father of seven of the naughtiest children in the world, Mr. Brown has lost control. Seventeen nannies have been driven away and he has lost all hope of ever finding another. But then, one day, a mysterious and magical figure turns up at the door. Her name is Nanny McPhee. With her bizarre looks and special powers, it seems that the Brown children may finally have found their match.

</p>The screenplay for Nanny McPhee was written by Emma Thompson and is an adaptation of the Nurse Matilda books, written in the early 1960s by Christianna Brand. The story is set in the late Victorian/early Edwardian England in a small village on the edge of London.

</p>Emma Thompson, the only person to have won Academy Awards for both acting and writing, also plays the title role, opposite Colin Firth, Kelly McDonald and Angela Lansbury. Kelly McDonald, who recently starred as Peter Pan in Finding Neverland, joins the cast as Evangeline, the kindly scullery maid, while Angela Lansbury, winner of six Golden Globe Awards and four Tony Awards, makes a welcome return to the big screen after an absence of two decades. The impressive cast also includes Celia Imrie and BAFTA winner Imelda Staunton (Vera Drake).

首先，一開場的序曲Finn中，Doyle即以前所未聞的音樂手法，編織出一種唯美，深邃，幽幻的奇特感受，這種音樂的味道其實有些類似John Williams在＜直到永遠＞中的手法，但成績顯然更為精湛懾人，其中Carey Wilson的口哨以及Tori Amos的人聲演出，是這首作品成功的關鍵，這些特殊的”聲音”手法聽來極為隨性，人聲的沈吟輕嘆有一種似笑非笑的表情，口哨的飄忽不定有一種深幽神祕的音色，加上管絃的輔助與變化，形成一種特異脫俗的聲音魅力，是Patrick Doyle這部作品中，在音樂手法上最具突破性的創作．Tori Amos在人聲吟唱上的表演，還有Paradiso Perduto這首曲目，這段音樂在管絃風格上較為接近Patrick Doyle過去的管絃風格，但在Tori Amos宛若嘆息的吟詠中，別具出塵幽幻的美感，至於另一段Carey Wilson的口哨演出，則出現在Paradiso Perduto Revisited這首曲目中，同樣也運用口哨表現一份悠遠深邃的氣息．因此我們可以發現，Doyle在作曲理念上，運用Carey Wilson與Tori Amos極為特殊的音質和表演型態，來塑造Paradiso Perduto這個奇特的深庭大院中，那種美如化外之境，又似乎掩藏著無數祕密的神祕感，一種美的脫俗出塵，卻又有些不真實的奇特感受，Patrick Doyle的巧思和幾位音樂家獨特的表演，確實傳神的發揮出這種空靈曼妙的不凡美感．
另一位在人聲上有不凡演出的是Miriam Stockley，所表演的曲目Kissing In The Rain是這張原聲帶中的代表作，Patrick Doyle將優美的Love Theme做了完整唯美的鋪陳與變化，不僅旋律動人，管絃編曲效果出色，Miriam Stockley的吟唱更是大大提昇了整首作品的美感，也帶來這首作品的情緒高潮，Miriam另一段出色的演出Under Floor，則與Kissing In The Rain中的管絃音色大異其趣，而是結合了Phil Todd的電子音樂，展現另外一種全然不同的現代感，這段音樂與另一首曲目The Price Of Sucess，雖然仍是Patrick Doyle的作品，但顯然Phil Todd的電子音樂處理，才是讓作品魅力發揮出來的關鍵．
著名女高音Kiri Te Kanawa則為這部作品演唱動人絕美的詠嘆調I Saw No Shadow Of Another Parting，這是配樂中一段很美的主題旋律，也又一次展現了Doyle譜寫藝術歌曲的過人功力，Doyle這類歌曲作品，總是有濃郁典雅的藝術氣息，悅耳醉人的旋律美，卻又不會有學院派的艱澀壓力，是我個人覺得Patrick Doyle作品中最迷人的元素，我幾乎覺得Doyle就像當代的普契尼．另一位女高音歌手Janis Kelly，則在A Walk In The Park，Planes On A Plane等曲目中有不錯的演出，A Walk In The Park這首作品結合了Love Theme與I Saw No Shadow Of Another Parting成一體，主要由John Williams的吉他獨奏挑大樑，Janis Kelly的吟唱僅是略做潤飾，但效果不錯，而Planes On A Plane則是以人聲吟唱為主，旋律極為優美脫俗，有讓人驚艷的美感，可惜篇幅很短．
接下來看看器樂的部份，John Williams的吉他獨奏是整張原聲帶的主力，不過此John Williams非彼John Williams，這位John Williams與＜星際大戰＞的John Williams同名，是古典吉他界的第一把交椅，這次的演出並不是他首次為電影原聲帶演奏，＜越戰獵鹿人＞的吉他演奏即是出自他的手筆，在這部配樂中， John Williams的演出不僅吃重，而且也為這部作品的Love Theme（即Estella's Theme），做了醇美柔和，舒緩怡人的詮釋，其中如Estella's Theme，A Walk In The Park，A Toast，It Was Just My Memory Of It等都是相當高雅動人的作品，Befactor在旋律上是A Toast的延續，雖然在吉他的表現上較不顯眼，但有很動人的旋律美和情緒性．
鋼琴演奏的部份由Gyrus Chestnut擔任，所演奏的曲目Joe Leaves，和John Williams以吉他演奏的A Toast，在氣質和感受上頗為相近，都呈現了幽靜婉約的美感，是一軌很美的演奏作品．Gyrus Chestnut在原聲帶中還演出了爵士作品By The Inch Or By The Hour，這首作品聽起來隱約是Estella's Theme的爵士變奏曲，感覺不錯．而另一首爵士作品The Big Trip由James Carter與Guy Barker分別演奏薩克司風與小號，亦是一首演出精采的爵士作品．
Patrick Doyle整部作品由幾個非常美的抒情樂章，如Estella's Theme，I Saw No Shadow Of Another Parting等構成，其中Estella's Theme的份量最重，表演的型式也最為豐富，不論是人聲，吉他，甚至是爵士變奏的表現都很出色，幾段管絃演出如Kissing In The Rain，The Day All My Dream Came True也有相當豐沛的情感與戲劇張力，至於Pyramid Of Pain則結合了Estella's Theme，Joe Leaves，Planes On A Planes中的各個主題而成，是很好的作品，這首曲子和之後由人聲演唱的Planes On A Plane能連繫成很好的整體感，也可以一補Planes On A Plane這首作品篇幅太短的缺憾．除了這些優美的抒情描寫，這部作品也不乏幾段戲劇性較為強烈的管絃演出，如Crossing The Gulf，Lusting Dies等，以管絃手法上來說，是較為典型的Doyle作品，情緒上也較為激烈，但亦維持了整部作品一貫的典雅音色與迷情氣息，同時在電影的詮釋上，發揮出來的戲劇張力也頗為懾人．
這張原聲帶中，Patrick Doyle結合了許多出色的音樂表演者，從古典吉他，電子音樂，爵士音樂到信手捻來的口哨聲，從古典名伶Kanawa，到虛幻前衛的Tori Amos，Patrick Doyle整合超越了各種音樂領域，展現了其個人電影音樂生涯中，最具突破性的演出，大大的顛覆了Doyle一向予人古典保守的學院派印象，呈現了前所未聞的奇特音色與空靈氣息，而在這番改頭換面的風格轉型中，Doyle那種優雅的氣息與精緻的旋律美，依舊一如往昔的保留下來，而且反倒蛻變的更加洗練脫俗，令人格外激賞．光憑Patrick Doyle的精湛演出，這張原聲帶其實就已經相當值得，而選錄的歌曲Besame Mucho更是百聽不厭的好歌，因此整體來說，這既是一張音樂出色的電影原聲帶，同時，也是Patrick Doyle創作生涯中極為特殊，不凡的轉捩點，格外有珍藏與欣賞的意義與價值．
