Carmen Membrado, a well-known scriptwriter, now lives alone in a farmhouse in Tierra Baja, a lonely region of Spain. A year ago she stopped writing and retired to this village where she was born.
Carmen strives to increase the olive harvest, with a few good friends who admire and support her and Damián, a handyman of all kinds who is attracted to her.
An old flame, Eduardo Llanos, a film producer, arrives from Barcelona to convince her to work for him. She refuses to help him, not having forgotten how their love story ended twenty years ago, when they shot their first film together. But he decides to stay.
Carmen's daily life in her farmhouse and the village intertwines with the novel she is beginning to write.
During these days together, Carmen will rediscover Eduardo, and also that she is still in love with him, which brings her face to face with her own memory of what happened to them.
Thanks to this trip to meet Eduardo, and to her friends and Damián, Carmen begins a transformation that will help her to regain control of her life.
But Carmen will have to decide the ending of her novel.
