China Reverse accompanies Chinese who arrived in Vienna by chance, many years ago, seeking a better future. In the meantime they have grown and developed. They constantly look ahead, these days to the future of their children. Homesick? Maybe, but what for? The subjects of China Reverse could be living anywhere in Europe. They would eat the same food, do the same work, and be successful.

奧地利長大的華人女孩，為追尋家族歷史，逐步刨入被近代中國遺忘的歷史與傷痛。年年與父母回到中國探望祖父母的她，偶然發現外曾祖父曾從事左翼話劇與電影。她一方面追探上海黃金時代的電影事業，一方面也對比了父系祖先的貧農家庭，在明白文革與家族傷痛的同時，也逐漸了解歷史如何成為世代的傷痕。
