March 1/31 Wow, just fantastic. This is the sequel to the original 2000 X-Men that I never knew I wanted, but here we are. After basically faffing around in a nonsensical fanboy power-fantasy land for the past few entries (the last X-film I truly enjoyed on its own terms was First Class) the series finally pays off on the emotional realism ("Does it hurt when they come out?" "Every time.") of the first Singer film. I'll forgive a few scattered moments of narrative murkiness here and there, because this film absolutely delivers on the source material, and even improves on it. BIG RECOMMEND.
