曼哈顿二人行 - 评论

A fun and often funny noir-ish hang with two men (7-second jazzy music sting) in Manhattan (nighttime shot of the lights of the Big Apple reflecting off of cars). The movie takes place over the course of a little less than a 24-hour period. The absence of a French diplomat from a vote at the U.N. leads a reputable French reporter in Manhattan to call on his French paparazzi friend to scour the city looking for the dames of the diplomat's dalliances to find out why he wasn't at the vote, all while a mysterious car is trailing their every move across town. You get all the slices of New York life you could want - the U.N., Rockefeller Center at Christmastime (ice skating in front of the Christmas tree!), the Mercury Theatre, a Capitol Records recording studio (vibraphones and a smoky-voiced broad belting a tune!), a couple of seedy bars (showgirls backstage!), a diner (look out! a cop!) - and to hangout with two friends from opposite ends of the upstanding citizens scale who clearly have admiration for each other (respect is hard to come by in the City That Never Sleeps, especially if you're French). I liked it!
