Hooptober, Night Twenty-Two
I really regret not having seen this one earlier; In some ways this feels the most terrifying of the original Universal monster movies because it's such an applicable metaphor for sociopathology, and Claude Rains' physical and vocal performance as the character is impeccable.
The recent remake did a lot to center the idea of an arrogant man who uses twisted science to dodge responsibility for his actions, but I was surprised to see how much time the original spends on how the Invisible Man also exerts a psychological strain on the people he terrorizes, which felt a bit more modern than I was expecting.
