HOOPTOBER 4.0 NIGHT TWENTY: Before now, I never would have guessed that Bob Balaban had it in him to make something so authentically Lynchian, all the way down to the Angelo Badalamenti score and weird visual fugue sequences. So much of this rests on Quaid and Hurt's performances as the titular parents, but the central kid performance by Bryan Madorsky (who never did another film, a true IMDB one-and-doner) is kind of the linchpin for the whole thing IMO.
