2021 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 12: CATEGORY III WEEK A pretty fantastic HK take on the standard gangster film, with a bunch of fun turnabouts and betrayals along with well-drawn archetypal characters. I appreciated that it wasn't overly stylized in a way that would distract from learning all of the different players and factions, but still atmospheric enough to have time for things like the triad initiation sequence. It's one I want to revisit later in much the same way as the Godfather movies, so I can absorb more details about the setting and characters on a second viewing.
