战龙哥斯拉之怪兽总进击 - 评论

HOOPTOBER OCHO NIGHT NINE Even though this is the biggest team-up/face-off of Toho's monsters to this point in the franchise, it still feels like a victim of the studio's cost-cutting in the face of diminishing box office returns. The mandatory human-centric science fiction plot all but totally takes this one over, and it takes FOREVER for it to actually converge with the far more necessary monster-battle plot at the end of the film. When it actually happens, it's a lot of fun in the same way as a big Wrestlemania match, with every major monster getting their licks in as appropriate. That said, this one is definitely a kaiju-fans-only proposition, because I don't think a Godzilla franchise newcomer will have the patience to wait this one out.
