Hooptober Night Seven: This was literally everything I wanted from the 1950s version but didn't quite get there. It's so nice to finally have some context for the Donald Sutherland reaction image too. The special effects were also way more effective than I would have expected for the time, even for the year after Star Wars raised the bar. The thing I loved about the first 45 minutes or so was the overall sense that variations on the same movie were playing out in parallel everywhere in San Francisco, and our characters were just among the last to experience it. Just these little visual details where random people on the street were acting strangely and it wasn't always clear whether they were humans or pods at that point.
