By pulling no punches and putting true emphasis on the young protagonists (all of whom were excellently cast) IT manages to not only stand out from the vast majority of horror films to receive a wide release due to the sheer balls of it all, but also does it's source material justice despite it's deviations and original twists. The only disappointment I found was that it wasn't able to cram all of the themes and symbolism from the book into it's 2+ hour running time. The movie made up for that though by having plenty of heart, humor, and one freaky clown. IT could have been scarier, but this was still one of the most fun times I've ever had going to the movies. I anxiously await the sequel.
